OUR RESPONSE TO COVID-19
UPDATED: September 20, 2021
Effective September 22, 2021, the Ontario Government orders non-essential businesses to require proof of vaccination for those 12 years and older to help protect Ontarians from COVID-19 and the Delta variant.
As a facility that prides itself as a place for people of all ages, we are taking all the steps to ensure that we’re doing our part when it comes to protecting our community. Please note that all businesses are required to follow these regulations and are subject to penalties of hefty fines and closures for non-compliance. If you do not agree, we hope that as these regulations pass, you will return to our facility. For now, the distinctions for the proof of vaccination requirements are clear. Please read Reg 364/20 closely to determine how they apply to you.
The proof of vaccination mandate is required for all rock climbing gyms, fitness and recreational facilities across Ontario. All patrons will be required to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with very limited exemptions.
Here's what you need:
COVID-19 vaccination receipt showing 2 doses (+ 14 days) as of September 22nd
Government-issued ID to match against your receipt
Only the following individuals are exempt from providing proof of vaccinations at this time. If these descriptions do not apply to you and/or your family members and you are not fully vaccinated, we ask that you return at a later date when these restrictions ease.
Children under 12 years of age
Patrons under 18 in our programs (during program times and who are using their complimentary membership to practice)
Patrons entering to:
Use the washroom
Make a purchase/pay for a booking with a maximum time of 15 minutes
Dropping off their child (Only children 13+ years old can be left in the facility without supervision unless they're in a program/party)
Workers, contractors, repair workers, delivery workers, and people who are entering the building for work purposes.
Anyone with a valid health exemption must email your chosen Aspire climbing location at 48hrs before your visit so we can properly validate your documents which include the following:
Name / Contact info of physician / nurse
Logo / Letterhead identifying the physician or RN
A statement that there is a medical reason for the individual's exemption
Any effective time period
Front desk staff will not be able to accept medical exemptions on the spot. They are simply not qualified to validate these documents.

Why is Aspire requiring proof of vaccination?
Vaccinations are a choice, and we truly respect everyone's decision to choose what's best for their personal health and that of their family. This policy is mandated by the provincial government (Reg 364/20) to allow non-essential businesses to remain open and avoid a 4th lockdown. Otherwise, we face penalties of hefty fines or closures. This is not a choice for us after a year of significant financial losses. We are not making political statements or discriminations. We are trying to recover from this pandemic to continue offering our unique blend of climbing and ninja to our communities.
My membership is frozen, what are my options when I return to climb?
Reinstate your membership to avoid any fees
Pay for your session if you are unsure and would like to keep your membership on hold

Yes. Climbing shoe and harness rentals are available. Chalk rentals are not available at this time.
Will liquid chalk be mandatory?
Although not clinically proven at this time, liquid chalk contains a high alcohol content that can help to reduce the spread of the virus. In addition, it reduces the amount of airborne particles in the air improving the air quality of the facility. We will be monitoring our traffic levels to determine if this is neccessary. We ask that all visitors be considerate with the use of chalk and avoid accessive use and spread. Chalk bags are not availble for rent at the moment and we ask climbers not to share chalk.
What are the capacity limits at the gym?
All facilities are at 50% capacity which allows almost normal traffic levels. We are large 11,000+ sq/ft facilities which allow adequate 2m distancing for all customer groups.
Do I have to make a reservation or can I just come in?
During the enhanced Stage 3 of the provincial reopening plan, Milton and Whitby locations require bookings for new visitors only. Members and 10 pass holders do not need to make reservations.
