OUR RESPONSE TO COVID19

Aspire Climbing is now moving into Stage 3 of our reopening plan to include the return of members and guests. It's been a crazy year, but we can finally start welcoming our greater community. But we're not out of the woods yet. COVID19 is still part of our daily lives as we continue to adapt during this evolving pandemic. 

 

All Aspire Climbing locations are closely following the guidelines outlined by the Ontario Roadmap to Reopen. Each location will follow the same generalized recommendations such as physical distancing of 2 metres and wearing a mask, capacity limits may vary based on customer management, as well as programs and offerings.

  

We ask that everyone in our communities continue to participate in the provincial response to keeping everyone safe and reducing the transmission of COVID19 and future variants. Please follow and respect these recommendations so we can all get back to our normal lives and see the smiling faces that have been hidden for far too long!

We're taking the health and safety of our community and staff very seriously. Aspire Climbing locations are following the advice from their regional health units respectively on measures to combat the spread of COVID19.

Masks are Mandatory

We're not in the clear yet. With many young children still unvaccinated and the increase in the Delta variant of COVID19 in Ontario, we must continue to safeguard our community. Masks are mandatory at all times. Masks or face-coverings must be made of at least 2 layers. Buffs, neck gaiters, and other single-ply masks or face-coverings are not suitable. Similar to our no shirt and no bare feet policy, all members and guests must wear masks, even while participating in activities. If you do not feel comfortable wearing a mask, please stay home until a time when we can safely ease this restriction.

Please continue to practice and respect physical distancing regardless of wearing a mask as we all adapt to this new normal. We all share in the responsibility for the health and safety of others.

3 STAGE PLANS

Woohoo! At long last, we are moving to Stage 3 this Friday, July 16th and welcoming the return of members and guests. Here's what you need to know.

Camp Protocols

Following the public health recommendations for the operation of Day Camps, the following protocols will be in place:​

  • Camp staff have received their vaccinations however, masks will be required for staff and participants.

  • Campers and staff will operate in consistent cohorts for the duration of the weeklong programs

  • Staff to camper ratio is a maximum of 1:6

  • Cohort will be separated by designated spaces in the facility

  • Any shared areas will be cleaned and disinfected prior to use between cohort

  • Sharing of food and drinks are not permitted unless children are from the same household

  • Camp staff will undergo bi-weekly COVID rapid testing 

  • Families are required to complete the COVID screening test prior to arrival

COVID19 Prevention

  • If you are feeling sick or exhibiting any symptoms, please stay home and quarantine for 14 days before returning

  • Please arrive changed and ready to climb/ninja, change rooms will be limited to bathroom use for a max of 2 persons at a time

  • The water fountain is not available so please provide your own bottle and fluids or drinks can be purchased

  • Guarantee your spot by pre-booked online prior to your visit

  • Areas will follow strict capacity limits so please follow posted limits

  • Before switching to other areas, please see desk staff to assist with managing capacity

  • Respect your booked time slot and arrive/depart on time. Your time limits start based on your reservation time, not your arrival time

  • Waivers and transactions should be completed online to reduce the person to person contact

  • Supervision for youth will be required but limited to a ratio of 1 parent: 4 children

  • Loose chalk usage is under review. Please use chalk sparingly to avoid moving to a liquid chalk policy during COVID reopening

Your Arrival

  • Please arrive on-time, ready to climb/ninja to maximize your session

  • Upon entering the facility, please sanitize your hands or head straight to the washroom to wash your hands

  • Please minimize front desk contact by paying for your visit online, or paying via Interac, Visa or Mastercard tap. Cash payment is not available at this time

  • Please respect floor and seating markings

  • Please avoid climbing side by side with other climbers. The physical distancing of 2m is required on and off the wall between yourself and others who are not part of your social bubble

  • Avoid handshakes, hugs and fist bumps with other guests and staff. We miss you too but let’s practice pantomiming these actions out of mutual respect

Your Departure

  • Please respect your booking time limit and prepare your departure 10mins before your session end for a smooth transition

  • Check-out with the front desk upon departure to update our facility capacity limits

  • Keep your facemask on during your departure in case physical distancing cannot be maintained

  • Everyone MUST exit by the end of your session to allow staff to sanitize areas before the next group arrives

Contact Tracing

  • If a confirmed case is reported by a member, guest or staff, Aspire will work closely with local health authorities to perform the necessary contact tracing protocols

My membership is frozen, what are my options when I return to climb?


All members will be required to book their time-slot online prior to arrival. Payment will not be required online. Upon arrival, you can select the following options;

  • Reinstate your membership to avoid any fees
  • Pay for your session if you are unsure and would like to keep your membership on hold




What if I’m a prepaid member but I’m not ready to return right away?


All prepaid memberships on hold during the lockdown period will remain on hold unless you visit and choose to reactivate. In September 2021, all remaining memberships on hold will be automatically reactivated as regular services will be available.




What if I had a complimentary membership included with a program registration?


Complimentary memberships will automatically be reinstated upon your first visit back or automatically on September 1st, 2021. The balance of your membership time included in your program registration will be maintained.




I’m not a member but would like to join so I can start climbing or ninja’ing again. Will you have membership options?

If I'm not a member, when can I come in for a climbing or ninja session?


Milton and Whitby will be require visitors to book their sessions and pass options are available for adults, students, seniors and families. View each locations rate page for details. Vaughan will not require bookings are day passes are available.




Are Punch Card Holders included in your reopening stage for members?


Yes. Punch Card holders are welcome to redeem punches during their next visit. Upon booking your session, please select the option to redeem a punch.




Can I use my Members Guest Pass?


While Milton and Whitby are operating under a booking system, member guest passes are not available. Once the booking system is no longer required as the provincial restrictions lift, we will be able to hounor guest passes once again. Thank you for your understanding.




Can I book my social bubble to visit at the same time?


Bubble Bookings for a capacity of 10 people are welcome. Simply reserve all 10 spaces in the area you would like to use and have the zone for your entire bubble.




Are masks mandatory?


Yes they are. At this time, masks are mandatory at all times.




Are you offering Birthday Parties?


Yes! At long last, Birthday Parties are back! Visit the parties page on our website for more information and booking links for Milton, Whitby and Vaughan.




Will Aspire be screening visitors?


We respect the privacy and personal health matters of our community. We are not medically trained to screen visitors with temperature checks. We ask that all visitors respect the community by staying home if they exhibit any symptoms. If you have been in contact with anyone with or exposed to COVID19, we ask that you quarantine for 14 days prior to returning to Aspire.




Are you running youth programs?


Summer youth programs and camps are offer at each location this summer. Fall School of Hard Rock and League of Ninjas programs are planned for September. Visit our Programs page for more information.




Can I book multiple sessions at the same time?


Yes you can. Please be mindful that any reservation that is held means one less visitor so be mindful about your booking commitment. If you would like to cancel a booking, please call or email us as soon as possible.




Can I bring food and drinks into the gym?


For the time being, we're not allowing outside food in the facility and we are not selling snacks. The water fountain is not available so please bring your own drinks or than can be purchased at our front desk.




Is rental equipement available to rent?


At the moment, harnesses and climbing shoes are available to rent. Chalkbags are not. Climbing shoes are sprayed with 99% alcohol to disinfect them after every use and aired out to dry for 24hrs. Climbing harnesses are cycled to dry and put back into circulation after a 48hr quarentine period. Due to the communial nature of rental chalk bags and inability to clean and disinfect, chalk bag rentals are not availabe.




Will liquid chalk be mandatory?


Although not clinically proven at this time, liquid chalk contains a high alcohol content that can help to reduce the spread of the virus. In addition, it reduces the amount of airborne particles in the air improving the air quality of the facility. We will be monitoring our traffic levels to determine if this is neccessary. We ask that all visitors be considerate with the use of chalk and avoid accessive use and spread. Chalk bags are not availble for rent at the moment and we ask climbers not to share chalk.




Are Zones still a thing or is the whole gym open?


During Stage 3, Zones are no longer required. Your pass includes access to all the climbing and ninja areas in the facility.




Can I book back to back sessions?


Each facility may have different rules regarding back to back bookings based on their traffic levels and regional protocols. Please read the booking information prior to making a reservation to be sure.




What are the capacity limits at the gym?


During Stage 3 of Ontario's Roadmap to Reopen, we are able to operate at 50% capacity. This does allow for significant traffic so each facility will manage lower capacity limits to start to ensure staff and visitors feel comfortable. Capacity may increase with time as we're able to manage customer traffic.




Do I have to book a visit or can I just come in?


During Stage 3 starting on July 16th for Milton and Whitby, booking are required to guarentee your spot. This may change based on each facility's ability to manage customer traffic. We hope to eliminate bookings as soon as possible to members and guests can come freely. Our Vaughan location will not require bookings and walk-ins are welcome.
