Closing SOP

Closing Aspire Climbing is about performing EOB “End of Business” duties. This is checklist is to assist you to ensure that we close the day and set up the morning team for success. Commencing closing duties is an ongoing series of tasks throughout the evening as Welcome Desk operations ease throughout the evening.

On evenings where the closing team is scheduled for cleaning, an extra 30 minutes is added to the scheduled time to ensure all the duties are performed as needed.


Garbage and Recycling


Garbage and recycling disposal is a daily EOB function. Collection of these shouldn’t start too early however, make use of a second staff when available to collect and dispose of trash. Grab extra garbage and recycling bags before performing collection.


Garbage and/or recycling bins are located in the following areas:

  • Ninja/Fitness area

  • Café seating area

  • Café (x2)

  • Bathroom Entry

  • Bathrooms (x5)

  • Mezzanine

  • Bouldering area

Consolidate garbage/recycling as needed. Be mindful of soiled bags and fluids.

  • If the bag is soiled, replace it and do not reuse.

  • Take care of carrying this outside to prevent spillage.

  • If a bag is leaking, take the bin outside with you.

  • Clean out the bin as needed (never bag a wet or soiled bin — this will lead to mold and bad smells).

  • Replace bags and reposition all bins in their proper locations.


Taking Out the Trash


The garbage bin is located on the north end of the building, outside the Impact exit.

You must walk outside to take the trash out.

DO NOT LEAVE TRASH SITTING THROUGHOUT THE EVENING. TAKE IT OUT IMMEDIATELY.

DO NOT LEAVE TRASH INSIDE THE BUILDING OVERNIGHT, THIS WILL LEAD TO RODENTS.



Café Area


The café closes before the gym. Duties are responsibility of the café closer, however sometimes, the tables may need to be cleared/cleaned as customers leave.

  • Ensure that the OPEN sign is off — the remote can be found in the top right drawer by the coffee machine.

  • Turn off the lights.



Simulators


The simulators can be shut down over the course of the evening as bookings end. To shut down the simulators, perform the following procedures.

  • Turn off the projectors, Falcon sensors, apps and computers.

  • Move keyboard and mouse to the shelf under the countertop.

  • Return all the multisport equipment into their bags, reset the gear to be RFB the next day.

  • Return all remotes, golf balls, tees, and remotes to the Welcome Desk.

  • Reset all tables and stools.

  • 4 stools per high top and ensure tables are align and organized.

  • Sweep the area as needed especially after large bookings.

  • Return all pool cues, balls, chalk and cover if tables were used.

  • Return all shuffleboard pieces to the below table storage and cover if table was used.


Ninja/Fitness Area


Closing the ninja area is RFB the next day.

  • Ensure tables and seating are reset and aligned. 4 stools per high-top.

  • Do a walk around to make sure no equipment was left behind.

  • Any left behind clothing or gear goes to the lost and found.

  • Clean up major chalk spills.

  • Ensure signage to the area is aligned to the centre of the entrance.



Bouldering Area


Do a walk around to make sure that the area is RFB the next day.

  • Align benches and chairs as needed.

  • Clean up and major chalk spills left by the night before.

  • Any left behind clothing or gear goes to the lost and found.

  • Ensure signage to the area is aligned to the centre of the entrance.


Bathrooms


Our cleaning services take place on the following days: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

On Tuesday and Thursdays, the closing team is scheduled for facility cleaning. This includes the following duties:


Clean and disinfect the following:

  • Toilets

  • Sinks

  • Faucets

  • Mirrors

  • Hand dryers

  • Dryer backsplash

  • Sweep and mop the floors.

  • Spot vacuum major chalk spills in the bouldering, boards, ninja and fitness areas



Mezzanine


Check the mezz to any left behind clothing or items go to the lost and found, any garbage is thrown out and the tables and chairs are in place and aligned. This space may need to be reorganized and adapted based on the day’s bookings.



Welcome Desk


The Welcome Desk is the final area of close operations in the facility. Note that Close-Out of the POS (Point of Sale) can occur earlier, but this is the one of the last end-of-business area to prepare for the next day.

  • Rental shoes are sprayed and put away.

  • Any accident reports are emailed to the owners and management team for documentation purposes.

  • Scan reports on your phone and email to info@

  • Email reports and provide a high-level summary for clarity from info@ to the email group “Accident Report Forms”.

  • File, dispose and/or put away any unnecessary clutter so the Opening team is RFB.

  • Dispose of trash with the nightly garbage run.

  • Turn-off computers and Pricing TV.



Doors and Lights


The closing team must ensure that the entire facility is locked up for the day. This requires a physical check of each door and emergency exit to make sure each is closed and locked.

  • Climbing area

  • Door to Impact

  • Northeast emergency exit

  • Northeast hallway emergency exit

  • Golf Simulator emergency exit

  • Ninja area emergency exit

  • Fitness area emergency exit

  • Café entrance/exit (disable the power doors by switching to the middle position and lock the outside door).

  • Main entrance — ensure all 3 doors are locked

  • Turn off all lights inside the facility

  • Unit 3 located by the northeast exit by the fitness area.

  • Main lights are located behind the Welcome Desk cube wall.

  • Café lights are located by the sink

  • Main entrance light can be switched off on your way out. DO NOT touch the middle switch — this is for the outdoor signs
