WAIVER FORM POLICIES
To participate in any activity at Aspire Climbing, all participants are required to complete the Waiver Form without exceptions. Waiver forms are location specific and a new form will be required when visiting other Aspire Climbing locations.
Participants 17 and Under
For visitors ages 17 and under, waiver forms must be completed by the minor’s parent or court-appointed legal guardian. Relatives, older siblings, friends, group leaders, teachers and others will not be accepted. The submission of waivers by a minor is considered fraudulent. Aspire Climbing does not take responsibility for fraudulent forms. Parents must be aware of activities their child is participating in and the risks involved by reading the waiver and completing the information as required.
Waivers Expire After 2 Years
Completed waiver forms will expire after 2 years from the date it is signed and submitted. If your waiver has expired, our staff will alert you during your next visit.
ASSUMPTION OF RISK
Activities associated or related to rock climbing, indoor rock climbing, sport climbing, top-rope climbing, lead climbing, auto-belay climbing, bouldering, ninja courses, obstacles, parkour, slacklines, high-lines, zip-lines, fitness training and all instructional and coaching sessions (hereinafter collectively known as “the Activities”) involve risks, dangers and hazards that include, but are not limited to:
Injury as a result of falling; mechanical failure of the equipment; loss of balance or control; variable and difficult climbing conditions; collision with walls, the floor, climbing holds, or exposed or hidden structural supports or beams;
Rope abrasion or entanglement; injuries resulting from falling climbers or fallen items; failure of ropes, slings, climbing holds, anchor points, or any part of the climbing wall;
Collision with other equipment or structures; collision with other persons; illness or trauma; the proximity of medical care which may or may not be readily available;
The failure to act safely or within one’s ability or to stay within designated areas; negligence of other climbers and/or other persons; and negligence on the part of Aspire Climbing, or its staff, including the failure on the part of Aspire Climbing or its staff to safeguard or protect individuals from the risks, danger and hazards of the activities.
Consumption of alcohol or any other substance which would impair one’s senses or judgement before or while using the facilities of Aspire Climbing is strictly prohibited.
The use of ninja obstacles, weights and training areas is not permitted until a participant has completed the prerequisite safety and etiquette orientations.
Top-rope climbing, lead climbing, auto-belay climbing and bouldering in any climbing area in the facility is not permitted until a participant has completed the prerequisite top-rope belay test, lead test, auto-belay orientation and/or bouldering orientation.
Participants must tie directly into the climbing harness when engaging in top-roping or lead climbing with a figure-8 follow-through knot and a double fisherman's keeper knot only. All top-rope and lead climbing must be performed using a GriGri and locking carabiner. Roped climbers and belayers must only use gear that has been approved by Aspire Climbing staff.
Participants ages 13 and older may only belay after passing the prerequisite belay test. Lead climbing or belaying lead climbers is only permitted once certified by Aspire Climbing. Lead climbers must clip each bolt in sequence on all routes. Lead climbers will provide their dynamic climbing rope, GriGri belay device and locking carabiner and assume full responsibility for the safety and integrity of their gear. Said gear is subject to approval by Aspire Climbing staff and may be deemed unfit for use if questionable wear is visible. Lead climbers must not exceed the weight of the belayer by a factor of 1.35. Weight differences exceeding this factor are deemed unpredictable and unsafe.
Climbers assume responsibility for their choice in belayers. For top-roping, Aspire Climbing provides ropes, anchors and belay devices but will not be responsible for poor judgment by an ill-chosen belayer. Top-rope climbers must not exceed the weight of the belay by a factor of 1.8. Weight differences exceeding this factor are deemed unpredictable and unsafe.
Formal or informal teaching or coaching of individuals or groups, including but not limited to top-rope belaying, lead belaying, bouldering, ninja obstacle use, technical skills or exercises may only be performed by Aspire Climbing staff, except by special arrangement. In such an event, Aspire Climbing assumes no responsibility for lessons taught by others. Instruction by non-Aspire Climbing staff is not permitted on the premises, which includes inside or outside the building in the parking lot.
Participants understand that climbing privileges will be revoked if engaging in any activity is deemed unsafe by the staff and places others or themselves at risk of injury.
All climbers must promptly report any equipment defects, unsafe situations, or accidents.
Top-Rope Belay Tests
Belay tests are required for all experienced top-rope climbers before climbing at Aspire. Belay tests are also required for the first return visits of belay lesson participants. Climber/belayer must demonstrate their ability to perform the following;
Put on a harness correctly
Tie-in to their harness using a figure-eight follow-through with a double fisherman's backup knot
Belay and lower climber using a Petzl Grigri off the harness using the manufacturer’s suggested techniques
Climber’s weight must not exceed the belayer’s weight by a factor of 1.8
Conditional passes may be issued to climbers/belayers that demonstrate minimum safe standards but require additional instruction or supervision. Aspire staff will notify participants of conditional pass and re-testing will be required upon the next visit.
Lead Climbing Belay Tests
Lead tests are required for experienced lead climbers before lead climbing/belaying at Aspire. Lead tests are also required for the first return visit of lead lesson participants, before accessing lead walls. Lead climbers/belayers must provide their dynamic climbing rope, Petzl Grigri or Madrock Lifeguard and locking carabiner. Gear is subject to approval by Aspire staff and must be in clean condition for use indoors. Dirty outdoor ropes and rope bags will not be permitted on our climbing floors. Lead climbers/belayers must adhere to the following rules;
Belayer must spot climber until the first quickdraw is safely clipped
All quickdraws must be clipped and in sequence, without z-clipping or back clipping
Only marked lead routes may be lead
“Victory whippers” are not permitted
Lead climber must not exceed the weight of the lead belayer by a maximum factor of 1.35
Lead tests are $16, the second test is $12, the third test is $6, but climber/belayer may be required to take the lead lesson
The use of an Edelrid Ohm is permitted only after completing a prerequisite test at no-charge. This is to ensure safe operation of this device for situations where the climber exceeds the weight of the belay beyond the factor of 1.35.
Temporary Lead Tags
Temporary lead tags may be issued to participants of our lead climbing course only. Temporary lead tags permit climbers to mock lead with a top-rope backup system. Mock leading is not permitted otherwise. Once the climber/belayer passes the lead test, they must return the temporary lead tag to Aspire.

Late arrivals will be subject to late event start times, or in the case of lessons, the booking may need to be rescheduled. Time extensions are not guaranteed.
Group bookings are staggered by 30 minutes to allow transitions for previous booking departures, staff clean-up and check-in for the next booking. Time extensions for groups with late arrivals are not available.
Standard lesson times are open bookings and may have additional customers participating. It is unfair to hold back waiting for customers for late arrivals. Late arrivals may be subject to cancellation or pushed back to the next available start time if space is available.

EFT (MONTH-TO-MONTH) MEMBERSHIP POLICY
EFT memberships require a 2+ month commitment upon start-up. There are no admin fees. Upon start, EFT memberships enter a 2+ month contract. If the membership begins on the first of the month, the first payment will be an upfront cost of 3 months. If the membership starts within the month, the first month is prorated based on the number of days remaining, PLUS the upfront cost of 2 full months. Hence the 2+ month commitment. The first automatic payment will be processed at the 1st of the month following the initial 2+ month term.
To enter into an EFT membership agreement, a valid Visa or Mastercard is required for automatic payments. Card information is recorded and encrypted via www.stripe.com and is authorized for EFT monthly payments only. No other payments can be processed through this method. Card numbers are never stored on customer accounts outside of EFT encrypted payments.
The billing date for EFT memberships is the 1st day of each month. The cycle commences on the first month after the 2+ month prepaid term has completed. Charges will be applied to the credit card authorized for EFT. Members are responsible for maintaining good standing with payments. Keep credit card information up-to-date to avoid late fees or cancellation from non-payment.
EFT memberships will continue until cancellation is requested by the member or the individual responsible for monthly payments. Requests must be made through the online membership change form or by emailing the applicable Aspire Climbing location. Cancellations within the initial 2+ month start-up term are subject to a $20 early cancellation fee. After cancellation, memberships will remain active until the end of the billing cycle.
EFT members may freeze at any time after the initial 2+ month term has completed. The rate for freezing memberships is $10 per month and will be charged to the credit card on file. Requests must be made through the online membership change form or by emailing the applicable Aspire Climbing location. A membership freeze starts before the next billing date. Until that time, memberships remain active until the end of the billing cycle. When unfreezing or reinstating EFT memberships, prorated dues may apply based on the number of days remaining in the month from the start date requested. The automatic billing cycle will resume on the 1st of the following month. The initial 2+ month start-up commitment is not required upon reinstatement.
