What Sets Aspire Apart?
At Aspire, we train athletes in a way that reflects the real demands of sport. Our facility lets us do more
than a typical gym. We use strength training, climbing and ninja-based movement to build well-rounded
athletes:
-
Climbing builds real, full-body strength and control. Athletes learn to control their body in motion with precision.
-
Ninja training improves coordination and reaction time. It teaches athletes how to adjust quickly when things aren’t perfect.
-
Strength and conditioning training build the base. Athletes gain strength, move faster and handle physical play with more confidence.
We also track progress. Athletes complete a performance assessment at the beginning and at the end of
the program, measuring strength, power, speed and mobility so they can see real improvement overtime.
The result is simple: athletes who move better, react faster and hold up under pressure!
The Programs

The Aspire Peak Performance program is designed to improve all aspects of your young athlete’s game. It combines sport-specific training; such as, increasing skating speed, acceleration and shot power, with a focus on injury prevention through targeted strength and mobility work. Athletes work on strengthening and stretching key muscle groups like the hip flexors and hamstrings (commonly stressed in hockey). The program also improves mobility to support power and strength, while reducing the risk of injury. In addition, it addresses imbalances created by repetitive movements by introducing complementary training methods and activities that build a more complete and resilient athlete.
Hockey is a physical game. As young hockey players approach the U14 season, they need to prepare for hitting and all that comes with it.
The Aspire Peak Performance program is designed to address the following hockey objectives:

-
Overall Strength – the introduction of body contact to the game presents a new challenge that is best faced with increased muscle mass and strength.
-
Stronger muscles increase the protection and strength of bones
-
Stronger muscles increase the effectiveness and outcomes of body contact
-
Stronger muscles are more explosive, when combined with speed and power training
-
Stronger muscles increase power in skating and harder shots
-
-
Power, Speed and Agility – increasing the dynamics of movement to go bigger and faster with greater precision. Getting to the puck first with confidence.
-
Endurance and Cardio Fitness – being strong and fast is important but means very little if the effort and intensity cannot be sustained for the entire game. Athletes need to continue to perform at their best right through the third period and sometimes beyond.
-
Mobility and Flexibility – improving both athleticism and reducing the risk of injury.
